When Dean Smith retired, John Swofford became the ACC commissioner, and Mack
Brown left for Texas, we said, and were ripped a bunch for saying, that UNC
athletics were going to have a hard time keeping up with where they had been.
You don't lose three guys like that and actually get better. Here's
an article about Dick Baddour, who says that despite the Norwood
situation, despite the Dorrance suit, the losing football team, the
various Makhtar Ndiaye problems, legal and moral, despite the budget
deficits and the expenses the White Elephant football facilities cost, things
