We got this nice note from Jennifer, one of our UNC
buds, after the condolence thread on the board went up and since she asked
us to pass some information along, we thought we'd post it. A worthy
cause.
Hi, guys, it's Jennifer. I just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for your kind words on the site. Please pass on my gratitude to those posting on the bulletin board as well. I was quite touched by the thread on the board.
I can't even begin to explain the sadness that fills my heart, but I take comfort in knowing that he is in a much better place and free of the suffering he has endured for far too long. He slipped away very peacefully, completely surrounded by the love of his entire family.
He was my father, my mentor in the advertising business, my greatest supporter, my sincerest critic, my friend and my hero. I will miss him every day of my life.
I hope he's parked on a cloud trading stories with Chancellor Hooker and Charles Hayward. 'Course, he's an Alabama man, undergrad and for his MBA, so he's probably giving some poor Auburn fans hell up there in heaven. He could yell "Roll Tide" like nobody's business...
I know that you encourage your readers to contribute to Duke Children's Hospital, but perhaps you could put in a good word for UNC's Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center or a local Hospice. Both organizations worked tirelessly for my family and it is my dearest hope that they will to continue to help others battle and win against this horrible disease.

Thanks again for your wonderful support during this time. I hope we get the chance to meet in person one of these days.
Cordially,
Jennifer
