Default Some Help for the Front Page Korean Leg-Hopping Clip

Not sure whether this should go on the OTB (for obvious reasons), the EKB since it references the front page, or just sent in an email. Please move or delete as appropriate.

According to the internets, the Korean baseball leg-hopping clip is from a CHARITY baseball game where entertainers play -- and engage in some stunts to entertain the audience.

You may note that some of the players are laughing.

The activity is referencing some sort of (children's?) game where two "combatants" each hold one foot, and bump into each other until one falls.

They're obviously making fun of Hansbrough's foot work in the paint. The first base umpire assisted by not making the traveling call.

I've witnessed this activity before, but not at a Korean baseball game. It is equally bizarre to see Korean Sailors, on the fantail of a destroyer, bouncing around on one leg trying to knock each other down. I can assure DBR readers the video clip doesn't represent a spontaneous or random activity. However, I cannot offer any insight on the history or cultural signifigance of the activity.

Kinda funny, the name of this game (닭싸움) literally translates to chicken fight, kinda like cockfighting. It's supposed to emulate (supposedly) how roosters fight. It's one of the traditional/popular games you play during major holidays in Korea, along with wrestling and tug-of-war.

Also, that clip is old. Like, Rickrolling old.
