Ergh - DVR mishap. I only saw tribal council (good bye Joel!).What did I miss? Looks like only Ozzy has the idol - based on previews, the phoney idol will be found next week.
Did anyone go to exile island? After all the previews, was anyone hurt/dragged off following one of the challenges?
Most people here don't lie Cirie (sp.?) but you have to admit she twisted things tonight. I liked her before - not because she was strong but because she found a way to hang on. Isn't that what it is all about? Ah, whatever - I've been pummeled on these boards before, so pummel me now - I don't think she will win, but she knows how to hang on!!!

Joel finally got what was coming to him.
I was quite amused that he had the audacity to act shocked that they chose to keep Chet around while getting rid of a strong player.
Earth to Joel: That's what you've done the last two tribal councils.

BigRedDevil, go to the CBS website. There you can watch the entire episode with only a few commericals. It's great for DVR mishaps such as yours!

I couldn't believe what a jerk Joel was to Chet. He totally abused him, dragging him around that challenge. At least pretend like you care Joel.
I'll be curious to see what that tribe does if they ever have a mano a mano wrestling-type challenge.... who do they put up against James?

at this point Ozzy looks like he can be stud in any challenge, so I wouldn't put my money against him even against James

I agree with a previous poster. What are they going to do in challenges? I know Joel had a huge, huge target after his plotting to get rid of Mikey. I cannot think of any challenges that this tribe can win and once the merge happens their numbers are going to be low. Next week might not come down to a council because of the potential infection to Pender and he may have to leave.

Wandalee - Thanks for the info re: the CBS website; I don't know if I knew that before. Something for me to watch later this weekend.
As for Ozzy vs. James, my money would be on Ozzy to win most any challenge (short of the mano-a-mano combat) - he is a much more complete player.

Yeah, Joel was an idiot (as I posted about several times) and a piece of me was glad to see him go, but I cannot understand why Ozzie and Amber went along with this. If they were at all afraid of Joel, all they have to do is vote him out later. After getting rid of Chet, their side (the Faves) would have the numbers and they could eliminate Joel whenever they wanted. I fail to see the logic in getting rid of him now and keeping the woefully bad Chet around any longer.
I am guessing that one of two things happened that we were not shown--
1) Joel was a total jerk around camp and at challenges. We got little hints of this, mostly at the challenges, but I am betting we did not see incidents where Joel was just impossible to live with leading many in the tribe to say they would rather lose with Chet than win with Joel at this point in the game. That is a possibility.
2) Cerie convinced Ami to go along with the "vote out Joel" plan and they then told Amber and Ozzie to either join with them or be at risk of a 4-4 tie in the voting (which could have Amber and Ozzie at risk depending on the type of tiebreaker used in the show).
I think Cerie is a real player who knows how the numbers work in this game. I would like to see her voted out soon, as I don't really like her, but she is showing a fair amount of savy and brains. I bet she is the one who really engineered the boot of Joel.
I was bummed to see Jonathan Penner injured so badly. Based on the previews, I am worried that they will have to remove him from the game, which would suck. If they are so worried about infection, can't they just give him some anti-biotics? Why did it take the medics so long to arrive and treat his obviously bad knee injury? I think it really in unfair to set up a challenge course that encourages injury (run and jump around trees and poles while tied to someone else?!?!) and then take players out of the game for getting injured in that challenge. Sorry, but that sucks.
There have to be some multiple-elimination episodes coming soon. Generally, there are 13 episodes in a season of Survivor. When you have 16 contestants, that makes for 1 boot per episode plus 1 or 2 boots in the final 2-hour episode (depending on whether you have a 2-person or 3-perrson final). Well, this time around, they started with 20 players. That means we have a ton of boots left before we even get to the jury (probably at 9 or 10 players).

Maybe this is related to the strike? Put out longer season of Survivor, as a protection against an even longer strike. No data - just an idea.
I think we will still see repercussions from the strike for the next 6-12 months.
