So who are the 6, and really, who are the 8 (the two who didn't survive the crash, per those that did)?
We know four of them: Jack, Kate, Syed and Hurley
My guess on the other two: Sawyer and either Jin or Sun (with my guess being Jin).
I think the two who died (thus making up the 8) are Claire and Charlie.
The rest of the people are back on the island, including Locke, Desmond, Sun, and Juliette.
Guess we shall see.
Other theories (no spoliers, please)

Why Claire and Charlie?
Why not Boone, Shannon, Eko, Ana-Lucia, Arzt, Libby, Paulo, or Nikki? There have been plenty of Flight 815 survivors that have thus far dies, so it'd be strange for Jack and the other 5 to randomly select 2 people out of this group to say they are the other 2 that survived, but died.
Anyone else miss Eko? He was a badass.

Why Claire and Charlie?
of the "extra 2", one will have to be someone to explain Aaron, either Claire or Sawyer (i don't think either of them are in the Oceanic 6).
The other extra could be Charlie as a way for the O6 to honor his sacrifice.
Or it could be Jin to explain Sun's pregnancy, presuming Sun = O6.

My guesses:
The other 2 O6 are Jin and Sun.
The extra two are Sawyer (to explain how Kate got "pregnant") and Locke (but I have no guess why)

I would think there would have to be bodies to take back with them.
Side note not related to Lost - that divavillage swimsuit ad is very distracting. I feel like I'm on a naughty site.

If you do not want to know this information, steer well clear of fan sites! I saw several places yesterday where the 6 are posted. Most sites are pretty good about limiting it to the "spoiler" section, but this doesn't always hold true.

A non-spoiler, spoiler question... it seems that Lost sites presenting spoiler details have dramatically increased as of late? What's the reason behind this? Are there somehow more people gaining insider knowledge?

I don't know the answer to that specific question, but it's amazing how much information people can get off casting sheets and photographs taken with a wide angle lens in Hawaii. I understand that the producers (or writers or whoever) have gleefully taken advantage of this and begun putting out fake casting calls for non-existent characters, shooting scenes that never air, etc. My theory is that because of the writer's strike they have had less time/energy/money for subterfuge and therefor all the information that has gotten out lately is more accurate, making it seem like spoilers are on the rise.
