A clever blogger has taken the old deadwoo. . . , er, established presence that is Garfield and made something really interesting: Garfield Minus Garfield:

Basically they removed Garfield the cat from Garfield the strip and the result is "an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolor disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life."

I think Schultz would have approved, to say nothing of Watterson, Larson, and Breathed.
