Does anyone play Scrabulous (not the lame facebook version - I mean the live version)? If so - consider this a challenge! I will challenge anyone on DBR to a game of scrabble!!!

I don't, but aren't they being sued by Scrabble? I'm surprised they're still up and operational

I only play real scrabble. What's a good game for you? I regularly get in the 400s.

I dont know if Scrabulous is being sued by scrabble. I had heard the facebook version was being sued. I hope it doesnt get shut down! how else will i waste my time.

My scores range from the 300s-500s, usually landing up in the low 400s.

I go by the same handle on Scrabulous, I usually hang out in the Riverside Cafe. I describe my scrab skills as "slightly above average." (1486 Rating).

I'm a terrible scrabble player. I've just started playing Scrabulous on Facebook. I really have only played Scrabble occasionally before. I usually score in the 200's. Not that my vocab is bad, I'm just terrible at knowing how to maximize my score.

I play Literati on Yahoo! every now and then. My handle is "omgredickulous" if there are any other Literatians (probably just ruined that) out there. I'm not very good, and I usually quit if I'm behind. I'm a great sport. :D

Now, don't everyone rush to play me at once. ;)

I play Blitz Scrabble at scrabulous. Those 4 minutes go by so fast!

Scrabulous is holding strong so far! Low 400s average is ridiculous Steven. I thought I was good with my 1576 rating, but I guess I have a ways to go...

I had a lot of free time this past summer and really became proficient at placing words. Scrabble is so much more than a big vocab, its being able to see where words go. a 2 letter word can be very powerful!

Haven't tried the online stuff -- I need to have those wooden tiles in front of me.

Anyone tried super scrabble? Twice as many tiles, bigger board and quadruple word scores -- I know, why try to improve on a classic, however, with super scrabble you never get stuck in those 'closed' games. There is always a spot for that 7-letter word.

I have it; my grandmother gave it to me for Christmas a couple of years back. It makes for some pretty ridiculous scores. I threw up about 850 on my mom the last time we played and beat her by nearly 500.:o

2 and 3 letter words are the hotness. One huge key is memorizing those lists (J-O and X-I are your friends).

Last week, I threw down "jo" going in two directions. The J was on a triple letter space, and the O's were already in place, so I put down one tile and scored 50 points. Sweet.

C and V are the only letters that cannot be part of a two letter word (unless you are playing Sowpods - then Ch is a word).

How do you petition to get a word added onto Scrabble? It's a travesty that "Zen" is not a valid word.

I tried playing that against the computer and was shocked it wasn't allowed.

I'm *still* in a fight with someone over a scrabble game. I was winning until he laid down "bi" on the last play, for like 30 pts.

I maintain to this day that "bi" is a prefix, or an abbreviation, neither of which are allowed under scrabble rules. It is NOT a word.

Unfortunately, the online Scrabble dictionary (http://www.hasbro.com/games/adult-games/scrabble/home.cfm?page=Dictionary/dict) disagrees with you.

Oh, I *know* it's in the scrabble (and Hasbro) dictionary. I'm WELL aware of that fact. I ceded to my opponent that the Scrabble Dictionary is the dictionary to determine whether a play is valid or not.

It still doesn't mitigate the fact that "bi" is not a word. (Who, me, bitter? :D)

Go memorize the two-letter words. Now. Make sure it's one of the new lists that includes "qi" and "za".

The addition of "qi" was pretty earth-shattering to the OSPD-playing world. Previously one had to play "qat" or somesuch to get rid of one's Q.

Sorry, but its also in the Oxford English Dictionary (albeit as a "Colloq. Abbrev."). In my book, that makes it a word. "Za" is in there too (slang for Pizza).

Yeah, za and zas are great assets.
