http://thebiglead.com/?p=4202... the young lady who made the "lynch" remark about Tiger Woods. SportsCenter, PTI, Around The Horn, they couldn't stop bloviating.

Now, one of their own got liquored up at a roast and made some inappropriate remarks and, at least to ESPN, it's like nothing ever happened.

Nothing like taking care of your own.

If only they would suspend Cold Pizza all together.

Yeah, this happened on the 11th and we're only hearing about it now.

Meanwhile, Tilghman has been drug through the coals for a couple of weeks even though Tiger doesn't really care.

I was interviewed on Cold Pizza once, but by the beautiful Kit Hoover (beautiful in every way...except the fact she's a Tar Hole). Having been up for 7 straight days in anticipation of the Duke-UNC game, I was a bit zombie-like, but I thought it was cool, even if only 22 people were watching.

To be fair, I did hear about it this morning on SportsCenter. They did a segment about it near the end of the hour, stating that she's being disciplined by the network and showing her apology statement.

Notre Dame released a statement, as well, saying they didn't want to make a big deal out of it and assumed ESPN would deal with it appropriately. The Catholic League got much more bent out of shape, but I don't think anyone's listening to them. Also, there's not a second layer here similar to the Golf Magazine cover. That breathed another week of life into the Tilghman story. Finally, it was a drunken remark not meant for public consumption, whereas Tilghman made her statement right there on the TV. Practically everyone in the world's exposure to this story came secondhand, so it lacks the shock value of actually seeing it happen. Plus, racial strife sells; drunken hating on Notre Dame does not.

Irrespective of all that, I wouldn't really have expected ESPN to act differently, anyway. They're supposed to make a big deal about their own bad P.R.? I view ESPN as anything but an unbiased source of neutral "news," so this is exactly what I'd expect from it.

I haven't ceded to Tiger Woods my authority to make moral judgments, and I hope no one else would, either.

Tilghman and Jacobson have both gotten off pretty easy.

Notre Dame falls a close second to UNC in my book...I'm neutral on their basketball team due to Coach Brey. My condolences to those who married into the notre dame family:)

Big differences between the Golf incident and Dana Jacobson:

Golf incident on live TV - Jacobsen during a taping of a Roast, not aired.

Jesse Jackson has more media clout than the Catholic league (borderline PPB comment, but pretty hard to argue against, IMO)

If anyone in sports deserves that honor it would be him. I challenge you to find a better human in sports today.

Plus, she made the comments about him.
