I would dearly love for the Giants to win, but as I said weeks ago, I expect the Patriots to finish their season undefeated at 19-0. Please please please let me be wrong!

Call this bravado, but the issue in my mind is whether or not the Pats cover the spread...

New England hasn't been dominant for several games. I pick the surging Giants in an upset.
Of course that's with my heart, not my money. I agree, it would be a wonderful recruiting pitch for Cutcliffe to be able to point to both Mannings.

That spread has to come down some. I expect the Pats to win, but 14.5 (most recent I heard) is too much.

My immediate reaction is that the Giants have no chance, but man, they've got two very impressive wins in the last two weeks.
I hadn't even thought of Cutcliffe's potential recruiting angle in the event of a Giants win until several folks here pointed it out, but it would be cool.

At 14-12 last night I went with the ultimate weapon, I rubbed my three year-old's bottom on the TV screen. It's brought the Red Sox two ALCS Championships (the first one, Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS was 5 days before he was born) and now one Pats AFC Championship.
He got out of bed just at the start of overtime last night, saw that football was still being played and asked to rub his bottom on the TV again. I didn't really want to do it since the rooting interests in the BD household don't include either the Packers or the Giants (although I was pulling for GB last night) but I relented. When I asked him who he wanted to win the game, he said the Giants, so, I rubbed his butt on the screen for the Giants. Ronnie's bottom is undeafeted! I don't use it for regular season games (although Duke-UNC might be different) and I don't use it as long as things are going well for the Sox/Pats, mainly because I don't want to use up all the butt magic, but the Giant's probably have my son to thank today, Tynes certainly does.
I have not yet tried it for Duke BBall. Perhaps we'll try it sometime this year.

This vote is surprisingly close at 13-11. Is everyone voting from New York? ;)

I pick the Giants, because I have a lunch bet riding on them. At the beginning of the season, we all pick teams and if your team wins the super bowl you win a lunch. (Big spenders!)

Wow, you picked the Giants at the start of the season and all you get is lunch? If you had put $10 on them in Vegas, you would probably new a few thousand if they win it all (does anyone know the real preseason odds?).

What I was able to find on preseason odds had the Giants at 16-1 to win the Superbowl...

Wow, I would have expected them to be a bit longer than that.

G-I-A-N-T-S, GIANTS! My heart says the Giants but my head says the Pats. But who knows? The Giants were not contemplated by many to get past the Cowboys. Although I'm a Cowboys fan first and am still bumming, I'm secondarily a Giants fan due to geographical proximity growing up in NJ and conniving parents who said I could not go to any games (we have season tickets) unless I rooted for the Giants. Their last Superbowl appearance against the Ravens was such a desappointment. I hope at least it is a good game either way this time.

Heard on the radio today that they were 20-1.

Yeah, but they were a (marginal) playoff team last year. Offhand, someone like the Raiders winning it all, that would have been the type of payout you mention.

I'd like to see the Pats win, but suspect the Giants will take it.
This is simply based on performances, as the Pats seem to be getting fatigued (winning 18 straight can do that to a team! lol) and the Giants seem to be hitting their tempo.
The question is now what the next two weeks off will do to each team?
Will the Giants momentum be lost in the Phoenix sun? Or will the desert ait regenerate the Pats energy and enthusiasm to end the season in the record books?
I hope the Pats, bet the Giants. And I am not sure about that 30+ point spread the Giants have, can someone please explain this to me??

The Giants are currently 11.5 point underdogs. The initial odds I saw had them at 14.5 point underdogs. I'm not sure where you read 30, but that is definitely excessive.
