I can't even spell it. Anyway, when I was in North Carolina over the break I purchased a packet of gel caps listed as Ephederine something of the other. Said is was for asthma? I actually had to sign for it, which surprised me.
Didn't get it for a high or anything. Just wanted to have something on hand in case I started getting sleepy behind the wheel on the drive back to Atlanta. I didn't get sleepy, so, didn't take the stuff.
Is it safe to take? Or should I throw it away? What, if anything, are the potential risks? I don't have asthma but thought it may be an alternative to Viviran (when needed). Viviran upsets my stomach.
Thoughts?

Not sure how it will do with keeping you awake.
You had to sign for it because it is one of the ingredients used in making meth. They are trying to keep people from buying large quantities and/or stealing it off a shelf.

This is what I thought of (http://www.baseballlibrary.com/baseballlibrary/submit/Mileur_Ray1.stm) when I heard Ephedrine.

ephedrine is "white crosses" aka "cheap trucker speed." it has its dangers as in the previously linked article. it will keep you awake, though.

We (anesthesiologists/anesthetists) give ephedrine intravenously in the operating room for hypotension (low blood pressure), especially when accompanied by bradycardia (slow heart rate). It is classified as a sympathomimetic, meaning that it mimics the effects of your own sympathetic nervous system. As stated above, it is treated as a controlled substance because of its use in making methaphetamine derivatives. Because it causes both an acceleration of the heart rate and constriction of the blood vessels, it can both increase strain on the heart and mask dehydration. Caffeine and nicotine both have similar effects. I wouldn't advise using it except symptomatically as a component of cold-relief formulas, along with fluids.

I took it once for the the same reasons (Wilmington to Orlando alone starting at 5 pm). Had to pull off the road because of a panic attack. Never had a panic attack before, never had one since. I seriously thought I was having a heart attack. DONT USE IT!
