Baked, crispy, with lots of pepper and ketchup.

How could you miss 'fried with salt and ketchup?' That's the obvious choice.

And thanks for making me even hungrier, jerk.

Shizzle fo bizzle! I'm not sure. I thought I had that as a category. Looks like I only have fried with salt, pepper and ketchup. Hmmmmmm. Apologies.

As for making you hungrier, heck, I did the same to myself. To make things worse, tater tots, like narcotics, are almost impossible to come by in the area where I work.

I wouldn't mind macking on a plate of country ham with mustard, pepper and biscuits.

I like mine baked with ketchup.

And, like BillyBreen, I am now hungry for tater tots. Since I have some in the freezer at home, perhaps I'll indulge in them later this evening.

Fried (w/ salt & ketchup) would have been how I like them, but baked is how I should eat them, I suppose.

I'm going to have to check my freezer now...

Mmmm. Ketchup is good but mustard (the ballpark kind for this) is even better.

Never would have thought to use mustard. Will try this the next I back some tots.

You also forgot to include a beverage choice with your tater tots:p

I like fancy mustards, but for tater tots and french fries the yellow ballpark kind is best, IMHO. Something about the tangy-ness of the mustard pairs well with the crispy-ness of the tater tots, to me at least.

Sticky Rice in Richmond used to serve a bucket of tater tots along with their Asian-fusion menu. A little odd, but really tasty.

I prefer the illusion of virtue with my tots. No salt, no frying. Baked, ketchup (a vegatable), pepper (optional).

They're still bad, but very good.

I say they're tots, they're going to kill you anyway, so enjoy the ride to the bottom. Fried. Salt. Ketchup.

Gimme my tots fried, with light salt, and ketchup and mustard on the side, bordering on each other, so that I have the option of dipping each tot in ketchup, mustard, or both.

And EarlJam, do you not work anywhere near either of the Vortex locations? Because they have the best tots in the city.

I have yet to experience the Vortex' tots - but will soon have their tots all up in my face! Thanks for the heads up!

I work in Buckhead, probably about five miles or so from the Midtown location.

Yeah dude, you're blowin' it. Their tots are cash money (as are their burgers, of course...not to mention their beer list).

I know the burgers are larger than usual. What about their tots? Do they appear normal? Big tots? Small tots? Average tots? Either way, I love them all.

Worcestershire sauce (has to be Lea & Perrins as all others are merely cheap imitations) is great on tater tots too - especially when combined with malt vinegar.

Good God, can you tell from this post that I'm British?!?

The tots are average size. As for the burgers, I really wouldn't describe them as extraordinarily large either (half a pound or so, on the big size, but nothing outlandish). They are, however, very good. Their "standard" burgers (a list of about 20, with anything from canadian bacon and BBQ sauce to teriyaki seasoning and pineapple) are fantastic, and the "build your own" option is also great (I recommend bacon, cheddar, jalapenos, and BBQ sauce). The patty itself, however, while quite good, is not the best in Atlanta in my opinion. The best simple burger (in terms of just the meat patty) that I've had around here, believe it or not, is at Six Feet Under, the seafood joint across the street from Oakland Cemetery.

Actually, that sounds really good. I'll try that next time I have some tater tots.

This thread has encouraged me to experiment. Do you think that cocktail sauce would be good with tater tots?

Cocktail sauce is good with everything. But it's gotta be made properly: ketchup, horseradish (lots of it...I want the stuff coming back out of my nose), a healthy splash of Worcestershire sauce (I too believe that it's Lea & Perrin's or nothing), and a squirt of fresh lemon juice.

That's it, my next plate of tots has some Lea & Perrin's on one side, and some good cocktail sauce on the other!

First thing I'm doing tomorrow morning is going to the store for some Ore-Ida tater tots!

Sonic Chili-Cheese Tater Tots. Yum. What better way to make fried tater tots really healthy than to smother them in chili and melted cheese?

Otherwise I'm a fan of fried tater tots with ketchup.

Baked or fried, crispy, with moderate salt. No ketchup necessary as it is not a burger.

Worcestershire sauce can't go on the side because it isn't thick...it has the same consistency as vinegar. As a result, you have to put it on the tater tots exactly as you would with the malt vinegar. I recommend putting the Worcestershire sauce on first and then the malt vinegar so that the taste of the vinegar still comes through.

Also, seasoned salt is really really good on them as well.

Baked Tater Tots w/ light salt, light pepper and Montgomery Inn Resturant BBQ Sauce (Cincinnati). I usually buy a case of that stuff when I visit Cincy or order it online when I can't visit.

Yuck. Couldn't even answer the survey, since there was no place for NEVER. No one in their right mind would eat Tater Tots. So many unhealthy alternatives to rival.

Earl Jam, I have been bemoaning the fact that lately there have been so few polls posted on DBR, .....but Tater Tots?
