From the AJC.com:

Hawks have potion for Magic
His name is J-Smooth. Emerging star drops 25 with 16 boards in big win over division-leading Orlando.

Who's calling Joe Johnson J-Smooth? I haven't heard of this. That nickname sucks. J-Smooth? Sounds like an 80s rap act.

Clearly, a policy issue :-)

Whoops. Sorry. Got distracted by work. It happens at times. Meant to post to Off Topic.

Actually, J-Smooth is Josh Smith. I also want to take this opportunity to declare myself the "resident Hawks fan" around these parts.

I thought so... my biggest tip-off was that there's no way Joe Johnson grabs 16 boards.

I also want to take this opportunity to declare myself the "resident Hawks fan" around these parts.

I think Jason Evans has squatter's rights on that one.

if we are discussing Hawk's fandom . . .

this guy was a ball boy for the hawks back in the glory days of U-'Nique, Spud, Kevin Willis, and of course, Jon "Contract" Koncak.

I always thought Josh Smith's nickname was J-Smoov rather than J-Smooth.

As an aside - and this is totally "on topic," but the thought just came to me - I have not been that impressed with the Crazies' originality lately. I am sick of hearing (insert name) clapclap clapclapclap. I think it would be great to get a "human highlight" chant of Gerald in reference to uncle (and the fact that he is a human highlight)

Couldn't agree more...

for some reason i get the family trees of Damien Wilkins and Gerald Henderson mixed up - Gerald is not Niques nephew. Sorry for the misstatement.

The guy, in my opinion, who is really opening the offensive game up for the Hawks comes from down the road. Marvin's mid-range game has been very reliable. Gets inside the defense and hurts you. Causes adjustments. If, like the Hawks, you have not developed a style that can penetrate the defense off the pass, you need dribble penetration by a dangerous person. With JJ off his game, credit Marvin for creating offensive opportunities.

Shelden's inside scoring (6 for 6) is the most promising development for the Hawks this year.
