Three questions for any health gurus out there:
1. For a male in his 30s, what is the best multi-vitamin to take?
2. Are multi-vitamins for real (i.e., do they really do a lot of good?)
3. When is the best time to take it? Morning, Noon, Night?

Eats lots of yogurt. And drink red wine. Cheese is good, too. And cherries. Especially in pie.
Seriously, you need to do a lot of research and hire a nutritionist. There are a lot of complexities and interactions. For example, if you take a lot of fish oil it can impair your imune system. So take vitamin E to boost your imune system. Vitamin E is absorbed better if you get it from a fortified cereal. Also vitamin C helps E absorbtion. But be careful, too much E can be toxic.
Most of the name brand multi vitamins are quite similar. Better if you eat a varied diet with lots of fruit, wine, vegatables, wine, cheese, wine, nuts, and wine.

Thanks. Too much E can be toxic? Hard on the liver? Kidneys?
I know that much of getting in great shape is common sense (eat good foods, exercise and so forth). Along with that, and your above recs, any other supplement or product advice you endorse?

For what it's worth I saw a segment on the Today show a few months ago where they were talking about the results of a recent study that showed increased levels of prostate cancer with the consumption of too many daily vitamins. Don't know if there have been any follow up studies published yet or not.

Thanks. Seems like anything forced or hurried or simulated causes harm (in just about everything in life).
I guess when it comes right down to it the trick is: eat well, exercise and find something you enjoy in life (non-harmful) and do it often.
There. My day is complete.

According to the Mayo Clinic, a daily multivitamin may help protect sperm from damage.
