can someone explain to me why the magician got sick in the first place. I understand he was given AB blood when he was type A which made him worse, but did they ever explain why he bled in the water to begin with.

I didn't see, it, but my wife reported the episode to me, and it made no sense.

BTW, I'd like to invite anyone who so desires to join my facebook group, "Hugh Laurie (the dude on House) is on my wife/GF's laminated list"

Probably because he spent so much time in the lab on Crossing Jordan. I liked Hugh Laurie better in Jeeves and Wooster!

In House, Hugh has the chance to showcase his amazing range of talents, both comedic and dramatic (and musical, for that matter). With no formal training, either.

As to last night's episode, I thought the final diagnosis was that he actually had lupus. This caused the bleeding which brought him into the ER. The MRI tore up his insides because of the key. The loss of blood gave need for transfusions which messed up when they actually typed his blood, which came out wrong b/c of the lupus. The wrong blood caused the rest of the problems.

However, I only watched it once. It usually takes a second viewing to grasp everything. And so much was going on last night. But I loved the episode!
