And once again, pitching rules the day.

4-2 Colorado.

Hitting gets you to the playoffs. Pitching wins championships.

All of this is the appetizer for the Cubs game tonight. I love October baseball.

If pitching wins championships, then Josh Fogg is going to lose it for the Rockies, like he nearly did Monday.

What wins championships in October is the players' ability to stay awake during the commercial breaks. You can take a nap between innings. And how many times can they show that commerical where the guy falls in love with his talking GPS system? Talk about creepy.

That commercial is so last year. Was shocked to see it again, sigh!

Personally, I like Doug Collins's philosophy - any time a team scores more than the other team, they almost always win.

My favorite MLB playoff commercial of all time:

"HIS FATHER IS THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY!!!!"

Total lifespan of that series: 3 episodes

Speaking of commercials, what's with the cartoonish Charles Schwab spots? Why the animation? Is that really necessary?

Maybe the rationale is explained by the fact that I'm posting about it here.

There are few things I DESPISE more than that commercial on TV. I don't really know why, I just hate it. The only thing I can think of that I hate more is the computer virus checker commercial with a girl with a Russian accent, guy with a British accent.
