You know, I cannot recall if I posted thoughts here and it is probably too late for some of you but BE WARNED for a movie with a serious budget, mainstream stars, nd that wants to be something artistic, this is about as bad as it gets. This movie was terrible!!
The story makes no sense, the acting is horrid, and I have NEVER seen a flick that was this poorly edited. It just jumped around randomly from scene to scene. I could barely tell where we were from one moment to the next. Heck, most of the time I cold not even tell if an hour had passed or if it was the next day. How did Nicole Kidman read this script and decide to make this film?
I could go on and on about idiotic plot twists and the such, but why bother. Stay away!!! Stay far away from this poor excuse for a sci-fi/horror flick. It is at 20% on Rotten Tomatoes and I am stunned even 1 in 5 critics could find it watchable. Blech!!!
One final note -- In the first 10 minutes or so, Nicole Kidman comes out of her bedroom and her pajama bottoms are pretty much see through (she is wearing something like a thong). What's more, the room is --well-- cold so we can clearly see her nipples poking out. It was not nudity, but the entire theater gasped. I turned to the friend I was watching it with and said, "did we just see that?" He was slack-jawed. It was clearly the highlight of the movie.
