So, just wondering what folks on the list are doing in regards to this evening's release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

You know the drill -- complete the poll, post your answer. :)

Getting mine tonight -- so excited!!! (My husband, on the other hand, fails to show any enthusiasm whatsoever. Bah Humbug.)

Also getting mine tonight and will probably start reading it when I get home...how far I get will depend on how long my eyes hold out. My husband finds it amusing, my (19 year old) daughter is glad I'm going so she can doesn't have to (she's at Warped Tour today)

Finished re-reading the series in the nick of time. I wish I had thought of it before last weekend but I'm glad I refreshed my memory on the previous books. I need to finish seven as the house needs cleaning, the grass needs mowing and many chores have gone undone while I was immersed in 1-6.

My wife loves the books and the movies, has read all of them, and has infected our children and grandchildren. On the other hand, I am too fact-oriented to enjoy fantasies of any sort, Harry Potter especially included.

Curmudgeons forever.

Too bad you didn't order from deepdiscounts.com. I heard they accidentally sent out 1200 copies earlier this week. You could have been done with the book by now.

Enjoy it when you get it!

I'm not a fan, but I hope the book is everything you all are hoping for.

Getting mine in the mail via Amazon tomorrow...but due to the stupid bar exam (July 24-25 in Maryland, July 26 in New Jersey), I won't be reading it until late next week...the odds that I don't find out what happens before then? Unlikely?

I've already got a copy. Haven't read all of it, and don't plan to until I've read the rest of the series (I've only ever read the first one) but I have checked out the ending to see what happens. And no, I am not going to post it here.

I had the same problem in 2005 - I didn't make the 2 weeks until my exam to read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, had it been as close as this bar exam to the date of release I probably would have waited. Or just finished it in 6 hours like today. Best of luck.

Saturday morning, and there was a pallet with several hundred of them. They were also handing out free bookmarks, "HP" temporary tattoos, and rubber bracelets in four colors with "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - July 21, 2007" and "slytherin" (green) "ravenclaw" (blue) "hufflepuff" (yellow) or "gryffindor" (red).

They charged $17.44 there, plus 5% sales tax of course.
