Ok, I'm watching it. Jason mentioned it in another thread. Anybody else?
The show itself leaves a lot to be desired in terms of format and content but the short films are still worth discussing (and the films themselves are the reason I'm watching the show.) As a playwright myself, the one thing I have to say about most of them is that they can't write. If they were to do a show like this again, the directors and the writers should probably come from different talent pools. Have competitions for first pick of script, that kind of thing.
That said, Zach is by far the stand out. He's already a film-maker, get him a movie. There are a couple others that I enjoy watching, Adam comes to mind. I've even liked Shalini's stuff well enough. Hilary? The one whose writing they actually praise on the show? I'm a reader for a couple of stage competitions in Boston. Her stuff wouldn't make it past my filter.
