Don't look now but the first round leader of Tiger's tourney is Dukie Joe Ogilvy. Yes, it is round one and he is merely one shot clear of about 15 of the top players in the game, but if Joe can have a good weekend and score a top-10 here it would cement his tenuous hold on his PGA tour card. He's had a poor season so far and is waffling right around the cutoff point for holding onto his card.

As an aside, Tiger has missed a ton of putts and is currently 1-over, tied for 45th or something like that. Blech!!

Joe had a good start to his second round and then fell apart. He was 1 under through seven holes and finished 7 over for the day, with 6 bogeys and a double on his last 11 holes. He is on the cut line at +3 with all the afternoon players yet to tee off, so he may or may not survive to play the weekend.

Tiger is -3 for the day with only the par 5 9th hole remaining to play. He's going to make the cut

Anyone going to this tournament? I watched Tiger's round with keen interest as I will be there this Sunday, and a tournament without Tiger is not half as interesting...

Tiger finished with a 4-under, the best round of the day so far. He is 6 shots back of the co-leaders, so he has a lot of ground to make up over the weekend but he is certainly in contention. It helps him a lot that there are not many players between him and the top as he is tied for 12th. If KJ Choi or Stuart Applby merely shoot a 1 or 2 under tomorrow then it will be very hard for Woods to catch them but if they stumble even a little bit he will likely be in strong contention on Sunday.

Uggggh- Joe really blew up. He is gonna make the cut (curently projected at +4, but what a waste. He played his last 10 holes today in 8-over. Aaaccck! Oh well, back to worrying about being in the top 125 on the money list (coming into this weekend he was #122).

-Jason "for a guy who has never won a tourney and never been one of the top players on the tour, Joe has earned $6.5 million in his 10-year pro career... not too shabby!" Evans

Not to quibble, but he is 119th on the money list this week.

And from looking at the career money stats at http://www.pgatour.com/r/stats/current/110.html Joe is just above Neal Lancaster in career earnings
137 Joe Ogilvie $5,947,055
138 Neal Lancaster $5,935,141

Joe actually jumped over Neal this past week. Neal is sitting home in Smithfield this week so Joe can rest easy that Neal won't overtake him :)

In either case, it's not too shabby!
