I think women's tennis needs a drug testing policy with some teeth. This Jelena Jankovic has sure put on a lot of muscles and definition quickly...hummmm. She looks much more muscular than Rodger and most of the men on the Tour. Almost like the Barry Bonds before and after pictures

sorry to digress here but I guess they're still feeling Ginghis Khan's influence out in Eastern Europe, in the 1st picture I coulda sworn she was an Asian tennis player.

As for the difference, I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt - 1st pic was after she had hit a ball, 2nd was during, when her muscles would be flexed to the maximum.

Also, wiki lists her at 5'10" and 130 lb. Isn't that pretty normal (underweight for most women) for a tennis player's frame? Unless this is before the weight gain you mentioned

Look at the other photos in the strips/albums at the second link...

There are other photos from the same tournament as the muscle photo, as well as others from later dates that don't show the same definition. Either, as Hc5 says, she is just caught at the momoent of flexing, or... someone has had fun with Photoshop.

at the medibank international here in Sydney. She looks to be about as far from a steroid/hgh user as any pro athlete I've ever seen. Every muscle was long and lean. Nothing bulging, and her muscles and frame appeared very slight compared to her opponent, Nicole Vaidisova -- who didn't look artificially enhanced either.
