Hmmm, ok... keep in mind that I can barely sew a hem... I don't get it. I don't see what the other contestants see in his lack of skills & craftsmanship. Obviously the judges don't either, or maybe they're just looking at overall design and not the nitty gritty of skills yet.
I don't know, but the show has usually been more successful when it pits (portrays) the contestants as one against many (Santino maybe? Jeffrey?) or many against one (Michael C... ummm, the looney toon lady from the first season whose name I can't remember). The seasons where it was all hugs & holding hands didn't seem to fare as well.
Maybe the judges will nitpick him later, but for now he's obviously making what they want to see.
I also feel this could be setting up Gretchen for something later on, but frankly, I think she's a (w)itch.
All this being said, there hasn't been a whole lot this season that has knocked my socks off, the fashionista that I am.

Michael C's first win wasn't my favorite of the night but I wasn't annoyed by it. His second win? That dress was made of fug, no way should it have beaten Mondo's or Christopher's garments. In fact, to me it was so bad I thought, "Wow, Valerie made top 3 with that dress?" I was shocked (SHOCKED!) when the judges liked Michael C's this week. Oh well, Gretchen is still getting the (w)itch edit, and I have a hunch it may not be that much of an edit. Hated her jumpsuit that won too, so, I guess my tastes differ a bit from Heidi/Michael/Nina a lot this year.

Ah, good times!
I have been ehhh on Mike C.s stuff, but what I HAVE been floored by is the ridiculous cattiness (for lack of a meaner word) of everyone towards him! Generally he has seemed like a nice enough guy, and it seems that a few of the others have just decided to dislike him.
I think Gretchin, honestly, is not a bad person. I think she just felt like she could step forward in that group challenge, and I don't think she was doing it to be overbearing or the boss. She did flip-flop VERY badly, but I think she was just really stressed under pressure and hoping to get through it, and just stuck her foot WAY down her own mouth.
I've actually liked a wide number of the outfits this year, although I feel the overall talent is lower than in the past. Still, I feel like there have been more "oh that isn't bad" outfits this year.
Good times!:D

Have been watching Project Runway, this season. Not liking this season, as others. Watching Scarlet and Santino also. They are wonderful designers, and also have a great chemistry between the two of them.

I have not ventured into the Scarlet/Santino show... is it good? Santino, I thought, had a lot of rough charm... never saw Scarlet though, it was before my (Project Runway) time. Is the show any good?

We all watch at our house since our teenage daughter discovered the show. Seems like the talent level is way down this season, and the bitchiness level is way up. I guess this has always been a reality show but I didn't acknowledge that fully until this year. I hope they pull out of the nose dive but it almost seems scripted: anoint Gretchen, hate on Michael C, let him win, expose Gretchen (and the mouth she can't shut)...and the judges' wild lack of consistency has played right into it.

I HATED Gretchen's couture look this week. Her bohemian asthetic and blase colors are wearing on me. I'm bored with her designs.
I was a little surprised Andy didn't win this week, but I think Mondo's played better in the advertorial (huh? new word, anyone?) with his color scheme.

I agree, it is very reality TV right now...
I liked Gretchen to start, and defended her even when she couldn't keep her mouth shut, but she IS starting to wear on me. And I agree, her outfit this week was TERRIBLE.
I rather like Andy's stuff, and I thought Michael Cs stuff this week was not that bad... definitely better than Gretchen, who made the top 3. Ivy being gone will be interesting; she had a LOT of attitude.

So apparently Heidi still isn't in agreement with who the winner was. Link (http://content.usatoday.com/communities/livefrom/post/2011/01/failed-project/1)
Feh Gretchen. Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.
