Definitely one of the best holidays of the year! Happy Birthday, America!

My menu for the family holiday gathering is BBQ sandwiches, My Momma's Famous Potato Salad, Fruit Salad drizzled with a touch of raspberry walnut vinaigrette and Peach Cobbler (recipe courtesy of Our State magazine).

I like this menu enough to consider it for a tailgate party in the fall.......

I'll/we'll take that as a definite. 1st home game/Brunchgate?

Let's see now, some brisket from TNTDevil, kosher franks from Ozzie, slaw from Tillie, bagels and cream cheese from the Jarhead contingent, some seafood and home brews from CB&B, some pork loin from Allenmurray, CCC and/or oatmeal raisin cookies from Cathy, mimosas from dukePA, 'tinis from clbunchanumbers, fine ales from the Gordog and/or dpslaw and yours truly. Have I left anyone out? Anyone else care to join us in the 1st or 2nd tent? Or both? Looks like it's about 2 months away.

Oh, and BTW, Happy 4th of July to all!

I cut that peach cobbler recipe out of Our State magazine, too. Just waiting for ripe peaches to make it to Connecticut. Lord I miss Southern food.
What a country....

You can substitute frozen peaches per the recipe. Makes up delightful dessert right out of your best memories.
