I caved in and started watching Lost during the week break. Only 94 episodes to go. :D

If you have gotten through 4 or 5 episodes and are interested, you are about to be totally hooked. It will dominate your life over the summer. Lucky for you, you will get to live all of it in a row instead of taking massive layoffs.

You know what you need to do? You simply must take notes on what you think about what is happening on the show and then post them in a thread here every few episodes. Tell us what has you confused, what your theories are, what questions you want answered, which characters you like or dislike. I think the community would have a great time following your experience watching the show over the summer.

Have you ever read/heard/seen any spoilers about the show? Do you know much about the storylines that are going to happen and the mythology of the show? This would be really fun if you had no idea what to expect.

Heck, we should get a couple DBR folks to do this!!

Wanted: 2 or 3 DBR readers who have never watched Lost and who have 100 hours to burn over the summer and fall. Must have a Netflix/Blockbuster account or friends who own Lost on DVD. Then blog about your views on the show here on the DBR every few episodes.

Now is the time to do this as you can probably time yourself to finish the first six seasons just in time for season seven, which is the final season, to start in January.

I've watched two episodes of 'Lost' through the years, so I almost qualify. I had planned to someday watch it all, so, what the heck. The funny thing is my husband is a 'Lost' regular and somehow I have managed not to spoil myself, well, not much.

Things I think I know, some of the original cast members die, we eventually meet 'The Others', and there is a hatch. Beyond that, I'm not really aware of anything. Am I spoiled too much or should I give it a go?

I'm game, though I don't know how much time I'll be able to commit to it on a weekly basis - I'll just have to watch some here and there as I have time to. I've been thinking that I should rent DVD 1 of Season 1 and start it, and maybe this is the perfect time to do so, with most of my regular shows ending.

And I literally know NOTHING about Lost other than that it has an actor from "Party of Five" on it and it seems to have a pretty positive following.

I'll try to start next week. :)

Heh, I don't know too much of the story. I know (I think) that at some point more people come to the island and at some point some people get off the island, but that's really about it, other than the stuff I know from the first 9 episodes (the 9th is where Danielle appears for, I assume, the first of many times).

I also definitely have a Notepad document on my computer where I type up all the mysteries that come up and delete them as they're "solved" so I can keep track a little better. Problem is, I don't know if some of the questions are supposed to be answered later on, or if they're supposed to be mysterious and mythological and left open (like Kate's crime, or why Locke was healed). I guess I'll find out at some point over the summer.

Cool!!! All you guys are "in" as none of you know too much.

Like I said, as you watch 3 or 4 episodes, just post your thoughts about what is going on for the rest of us to see. There is no great rush. If you go a few weeks between comments, that is no big deal-- though I suspect that once you get going you will be knocking out several episodes a week. I am sure there will be plenty of Lost fans who will chime in and comment on your comments. Anyone who spoils what is going to happen next will be severely punished by the mods, that is for sure!!

You may want to each of you create your own thread so you don't get spoiled by reading the comments of someone else. So, we would have 3 threads titled something like-- "Watching Lost with Wander" and "Liveblogging Lost with Bostondevil" and "Lost from the Beginning by Duke4Ever32."

For anyone who thinks they'll take awhile getting through the first four seasons, guess again. Once you get hooked you'll be popping one disc in after another. You've also got the advantage of having the first 4 seasons at your disposal, so have a happy flight.

Good idea on separate threads, Jason. I had sorta been thinking about that - I wouldn't want someone who is ahead of me posting something in the thread that spoils what's ahead.

And, I may well not take as long as I'm thinking it will take. I started watching the Prison Break series on DVD and got addicted, and actually stayed home from work one day to watch several episodes consecutively, and later than night was trying to figure out how to get the next disc out of the Blockbuster store (which had closed for the day) without committing a crime. I'll probably start Season One of Lost this weekend.

This will be great... include this list with your posts... I've likely forgotten many mysteries, some because they were solved, some not.

Fixed above ;)

Not new to Lost; I've been hooked for the last three seasons, but a suggestion. I think it's possible to watch every episode from every season online at abc.com, rather than buy or borrow DVD's. Once on the site, you go to free episodes near the top.

Thanks! I just checked hulu.com and abc.com, and it appears I can watch them online while at work - which is both a good and a bad thing! :)
