She'll definitely be missed. My wife and I loved her on Golden Girls. She was great in that show! She'll be missed, at least in our house.

came when Maude would give Walter a withering stare and then say "God is gonna get you for that, Walter". "Maude" was always one of my must-sees; never really got into "Golden Girls"....maybe something on another channel trumped that one.
It's hard to image Bea Arthur being sickly/feeble/whatever. She always seemed to be such a force on her sitcoms. RIP Ms. Maude.

Such sad news, she will be greatly missed! One of my greatest childhood memories of spending time with my grandma before she passed away was routinely watching "Golden Girls" with her. Every episode always provided good laughs. My grandma would have made a wonderful addition to the cast. Now as an adult I still catch myself watching reruns. Good times.

OK, I'll be the first to admit I watched Maude mainly to see Adrienne Barbeau who played her daughter.

one of the most amazing moments in television was the episode that she did all by herself. she was in a "therapy session" and she basically did a 24 min monologue....
i think she may have won something for that......but it was truly amazing..

She made a career off of, ummm, those. She's the reason why every guy watched Maude!

I was wondering when this would drift farther off topic and pics like that would be posted. Oh, my...

I don't want to say I'm getting old, but when I watch Golden Girls re-runs these days, the gals are looking better and better. :)

Yes, of course...
Adrienne was always a favorite of mine, and did some great work in Escape from New York, a classically bad movie.
So far as I knew (I bow to your medical expertise) she was a "natural" beauty.
I always felt like the naturally buxom actresses (my Dad was a huge fan of Marilyn Monroe and admired Jayne Mansfield also) were somehow short-changed by the advent of breast implants. Sort of de-valued their great assets.
And back to Bea Arthur....she was really a terrific actress.

I'm a cardiologist, not a plastic surgeon. ;). I was just running with the implants comment from earlier in the thread. Or was that another thread:o.
Swamp Thing.
I agree, Ms. Arthur really was a fine actress. But that puts us back on topic again...

My bad....I thought perhaps you were a general chest expert. :)

All this talk led me to look up Ms. Barbeau's bio on Wiki. I had forgotten that she has twin sons, who were born when she was 51 years old. Yikes...
