Sedgwick was one of Stanley's Fish's early hires when he was taking the department to national prominence in the 1980s.

In 1988, Stanley Fish, who was transforming the English department at Duke University into a center of the new trends in criticism, recruited Ms. Sedgwick to Chapel Hill, where she taught for the next 10 years.

Uh, the head of the Duke English department recruited her to teach at UNC?!?! ;)

I expect that the NY Times will print a correction in tomorrow's paper. I saw the Chapel Hill refrence in the hard copy this morning and almost choked.
