My heart aches when I read stories like this. It's just a game! I know it's a different culture in other parts of the world. But, it's still just a game.

Reminds me of the defender on the 94 Colombian team (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andr%C3%A9s_Escobar). As you say, different culture. They obviously need a speedo guy to loosen things up.
