You are not imagining it, because I remember it too. It was quite something. I have searched the board, (it must have been the old board) and googled and couldn't find it, but it did exist.

I remember talk of that cake. I would bet that it came from the old Davis Bakery at Lakewood. I don't know if it still exists. It was on Chapel Hill street just beyond Lakewood SC.

I must report some sad news. The Davis Bakery has been closed for a while. Here's a link to Endangered Durham, a webs site loaded with historical information about all sorts of places in Durham or used to be in Durham.

Groom's cake? Why not as a wedding cake?!
Surely the bride would not object :p

Maybe Duff from "Ace of Cakes" (Food Network) could do it.

I bet he'd figure a way to fill it with itty bitty Cameron Crazies, including Viking and Speedo Guy;). Got to have some pyrotechnics too!
It might, however, be VERY expensive.

I was going to suggest Duff - but his cakes start at $1,000 and they don't always deliver. If they do deliver - it is only within a 4-6hr range from their place in Baltimore. I figured nawlins11bd might not be that close to Baltimore.

I saw an episode in which he delivered a cake to Chicago as the cake was Wrigley Field.
Shoot, if nawlins11bd is getting married in Durham, if he (am assuming nawlins11bd is a he as the question is regarding a grooms cake, if I'm wrong, I apologize) will pay for gas and tolls, I'll drive up to get the cake. Then I could visit my parents too. :D

Edible Art in Raleigh has done a few groom's cakes with NCSU and UNC themes, http://www.edibleartbakery.com/Default.aspx?tabid=45. It might be worth asking if they could do CIS. Plus, their cakes are sooooooooooooooo gooooooooooooooooooooodddddddddddd. Ymm cake!

This is perfect. Who better to appreciate the history and charm of Cameron Indoor Stadium than a Baltimore native?

Maybe you could have the Blue Devil jump out of your cake instead of a dancer:cool:.

Yes, knights68 is fine regarding my love for Blue Devil. In fact, when we're at games he refers to Blue Devil as my boyfriend.
I would think Ozzie would be okay as well. After all, it's Blue Devil.
I <3 Blue Devil. Sigh.

Hmmm, maybe I should put that in my signature line.

Yeah, it's OK with me. Knights68 is the one who should be jealous. There's just not that much of Tilley to go around!
