I'm headed down for the FSU game, and was wondering if there is a shuttle or something from RDU to the university. Can someone let me know if there is?

Thanks.

Wooo! Congrats on making it to a game this year! And you thought it wouldn't happen...

FYI, I found a $10/day rental on Alamo.com but I think you had to keep it for 2 days and over a Saturday night... actually, here's the link (http://www.alamo.com/hotDealsTemplate.do?msg=alamo_UpTo10Off_offer). Sat night yes, but doesn't look like a min # of days (max 4)...

But since I just caught that the game is on a Tues, nevermind. :(

Yeah, the game is on Tuesday. I'm staying with my brother in Raleigh overnight -- he's going to meet me on campus to grab dinner and then go to the game, and I'm hoping to have found tickets before then.

So, I don't really want to rent a car, and I also don't really want to bug my sister-in-law to come pick me up and then borrow her car after I drop her off back in Raleigh. I was hoping to find a shuttle, but I guess I can always catch a cab.

Expectations of good public transit in NC? You've been in Chi-town for too long... ;)

If you got me a ticket to the game, I would drive to the airport and take you over to campus.

I've been to the airport and back already today. I actually got back to Greenville in time to go to church.

New 264 is great. Ain't it?

Not to mention the by-pass of Knightdale and Wilson.

Looks like I can get to campus by noon by taking a couple of buses. The 747 from the airport to the RTP transit center, and the 412 up to Erwin road.

I guess the last step is finding tickets. :)

There are always cabs outside the airport ready to take you where you need.

Cab is like $20. I also know of people who have taken a bus for around $2 and have gotten to campus successfully, although I'm not sure what lines...There's a Duke student shuttle only for fall break, etc....not on random dates.

If you've ever taken the El from the airport in Chicago, you'd know that it is PAINFUL, especially if you aren't going directly to the loop and have to transfer at the loop.....Anyways, I just hate the El, and increasing the price this year didn't help. In North Carolina, at least, you can get from Duke to RDU (20 miles) in like 20 minutes. In Chicago, it takes about 20 minutes to go about 3 miles....gah, the El makes me angry. My commute has increased in time after I moved 4 miles CLOSER to work since I used to be able to take the train (i.e. Metra)....but now am forced to deal with the El...

I remember when it used to take FOREVER to get from Raleigh to Greenville. Now the hardest part about getting to Greenville is getting through Greenville.

I like the new U.S. 64 around Knightdale. The new 540 around Raleigh is pretty amazing, too.

I think they did this to make it easier for our friends down east to arrive at Brunchgates faster:o:rolleyes:;).

Supershuttle started service at RDU (http://www.supershuttle.com/default.aspx?content=Raleigh) in January.

Cheap and easy. 30 minute wait at the transit center was annoying, but on the whole, not bad.
