View Full Version : How old are you?

Lord Ash

Someone else mentioned average age at DBR; I always assumed it was a good deal older than most internet forums.

So, out of curiosity; how old are you?

And you're expecting us to be truthful when responding to this poll, even WITH privacy?;)

FWIW, ILJ is one year older today. I greeted her with a dozen roses last night, and made her morning omelet. The only thing I haven't figured out is how to contribute in her name to Ozzie's "Retire Jimmy's Number Fund." ;):D

As the person who made the statement that started this thread, it appears as though I am right (about being older than the average poster). I am right at the top of the cutoff for my group (49) so it appears that I am older than average. Perhaps one of the few times I've been "above average" since I started hanging out here.

Here's a hint...
I played against Carolina one year in summer league baseball while at Atlantic Christian. Yonaker was playing first base and I got there on a walk. I was 5'7 135lbs at the time and a base stealing threat. He was a long, tall giant and it had to be funny to someone to see me standing beside him. I recall he had the biggest feet I had ever seen, and I could not find a spot for my size 7 1/2's on the bag.

My biggest surprise is nobody has killed me yet, since i'm fond of a good debate:)

I think we should all take a field trip to a "normal" internet forum to see just how insane and ridiculous they are. This is by far the most civilized I have ever seen!

I would attribute much of that to what this board has a good mix of experience with some youth. I go to other topic specific boards and I would hazard that the average age is in the mid to early 20's. Not that that is bad, it just presents a very different group dynamic.

It sorta reminds me of an issue some wildlife park was having with bull elephants. They were re-populating an area that had been decimated by poaching, etc. and all they had were a bunch of teenage males. They were very destructive and would attack the females in the area. Finally, they found and relocated a much older bull who brought the young males in line, problem solved.

Okay, maybe it's too early in the morning for me to be posting.

I'd think that users who post/look at the Off Topic board are not necessarily representative of the Main Board....

You should want lots of young fans. Where are you going to find the future fan base from?

I remember Mojo Nixon(the best thing to ever come out of the hole down the road?) pre-Sirius...and Camper Von Beethoven was quite popular during my heyday.

Hint: I watched an ACC Tournament game with Johnny Frye and John Cantwell.

Did this occur before or after they were on the basketball team?
During. They were just catching part of the game before theirs until they had to go dress.
