As to the rumor of a KI visit to Durham this weekend, that won't be happening according to John at TDD.

I hesitate to post this since it is in his premium area, but just to provide some info as we await KI's announcement. Additionally, with this info is a statement that the non-visit is not a surprise and is not relevant to KI's decision/announcement.

I've not seen any flat-out declarations of KI's intentions today, so I guess we'll all nervously await the ESPNU announcement.


Does anyone know if Kyrie will be making the announcement at the ESPNU studios, which are in Charlotte if I am not mistaken? If that is the case, it just seems like too much of a coincidence that he would make the trip to NC without stopping by Duke (if he commits) for the weekend. Also add in the fact that a good friend is visiting this weekend as well. I remember last year Ryan Kelly announced from the studios but that is not a long trip for him.

I don't believe a message board poster has to take the same amount of care taken in a post as say a note to one's academic thesis adviser. Perhaps that is a mistake. Although, I am not apologizing for my post because I don't think I asked or did anything out of line. Furthermore, Stanford certainly isn't Duke. Though, with Coach Dawkins at the helm I am sure they hope they are a reasonable facsimile as quickly as possible.

I appreciate the posts about KI's academic prowess. Also, the post about Coach Cut's recruiting was very interesting.

I think this is great, finally we have a kid who has enjoyed this process to its fullest. Congrats to Kyrie on whatever his decision will be. I hope you come to duke because I would love to be able to watch you play every game on National Television through your college career but if you go somewhere else I can only hope you make the best of it. I have no idea what made you hone in on St Johns and their great books curriculum, but I grew up across the street from St Johns. Aside from their unique degree program, they have an annual croquet match with the Navy midshipmen which is as close to an athletic event as St John's competes in. It has been too long since I have been back, but the culture and atmosphere at St Johns was a throwback to the 60s and early 70s.

You have to give Kyrie his respect. Given all of the breaking news earlier this week that Kyrie will sign with Duke...he still has all of us Dukies on pins and needles. Assuming, for the moment, that Kyrie is not about to pull off Ocean's 14, I'm curious to see how he will explain his suspense-generating comments from this past week.
