The other day, while out sleddign with my sone, I heard one girl call out to her sister, who was named "Mercedes" (not an uncommon name). I began wondering what other names (first, not last) are shared by cars and humans alike?
Chevy
Ford
Royce
Bently
Lincoln
Others?

If we're talking about car makes and models named after people, then you have a list like the one above. (Could also add Louis Chevrolet).
But looking at, say, a list of baby names that are also car names, you might add the following:
Aurora
Bobcat
Brewster
Cherokee
Colt (a gun and a QB)
Cooper
Cosmo
Dakota
Delta
Fox
Jimmy
Magnum (not only a name, but also a look (http://www.fox-hound.us/misc/Zoolander-Magnum.png))
Marcia
Milan
Montana
Pilot (if you're a celebrity baby (http://www.cracked.com/article_15765_20-most-bizarre-celebrity-baby-names.html))
Royal
Sable
Savanna(h)
Seneca (also an apple juice)
Shelby (not a specific model, but a variation of existing ones)
Sienna
Sierra
Sky
Hey, I'm not saying these are all great names. I'd imagine "Sephia" may become an alternate spelling of Sophia. And maybe some Celtics fan will name their kid Rondo.
Finally, there's the Stacy Edwards character on Chicago Hope, Lisa Catera. One of the showrunners (I think it was David E. Kelley) heard the phrase "lease a Catera" from a Cadillac commercial and liked it.
I met someone named Camino. No El. Just Camino.

When we lived in Tokyo, the family car was a Cedric. I did some googling and it was made by Nissan. (It was ugly green and not very entertaining.)

Before Nissan started selling the Maxima here in the U.S., it was sold as the "Blue Bird" in Japan for several years.

What a pedestrian name.

In the Washington Post birth announcements, I once saw one for...
My'Lexus
:eek::eek:
I've also heard of girls being named Escalade.

In Beverly Cleary's Beezus and Ramona, Ramona Quimby named her doll "Chevrolet" because she thought it was the most beautiful name in the world.
(I know it's not a human name, but this IS the off-topic board.)

Hey, in this economy one has to look for alternate sources of income. Unfortunately, my stripper career was short lived. I chose the stage name "Mini Cooper" and, for some reason, didn't get many requests for table dances. :(
What about people who name their cars with people names?

I worked for two years as a Male gigolo, "Max Cockburn."
Didn't get a lot of business either.

Yeah, Bobcat (http://www.nndb.com/people/880/000025805/). I suppose it's as likely to appear in a baby name book as Dweezil, but it is someone's first name.
