Dang!

At least it was acid. If it was caustic, the damage would be permanent.

A little known factoid, at least as it was told to me years ago by a chemist. Back in the bad old days when criminal types (think Al Capone) would torture an enemy by pouring acid into their eyes to blind them, the damage was somewhat temporary. If they had used caustic, it would have been permanent.

No telling what happens if you get pastrami in your eyes.

Why did the Tilex get on your eyelids? Were you attempting to groom your eyebrows or eyelashes?

I rubbed my eye after using it without thinking that the stuff my still be on my hands.

Rest assured, it shall not happen again!

This is one reason I use gloves when I'm cleaning. The others include, keeping nail polish intact, and keeping my hands nice and soft. :)

You don't rub your eyes or scratch your nose when you're wearing rubber gloves?

I'm not Tilly, but I can answer this.

No. The rubber gloves serve as a gentle reminder NOT to scratch or rub your nose or eyes.

But what if your nose itches? Can you use the upper part of the glove above your wrist safely?

I don't know, Ozzie. Why don't you come over and scrub out the kitchen and bathrooms for me? I'll provide cleaning chemicals and rubber gloves. When your nose starts to itch, you can find out how you can safely scratch that itch and then report back to us.

CathyCA is absolutely correct. If I have to rub my nose, I do so on the sleeve of the shirt I'm wearing, or I take the glove off.

Agreed. And whatever frothy beer that was that I had three of, was 1) potent and 2) gave me an unbelievalbe headache that I have to this moment.

It was good though and that place rocks. I'll go again....and will have the BBCS.

If you really do want Duke section tickets to that game (and I don't happen to bring them with me), let me know when the season ticket order forms come in (last year January with the new coach, normally early summer, so this year somewhere between January and July :)) and I'll be happy to get you some (I buy, you pay me back) if they offer them to us, which I expect they will.

Right now you are Tate Armstrong, a great player from my undergrad days!

Reminds me of my graduation night when my friend rubbed his eyes at the crabhouse we were eating at. His hands were covered in Old Bay seasoning. I was crying from laughter, he was crying from pain.

I figured that would have happened at SOME time with you, considering how many of those sammiches you have eaten over the years and the tears of joy that MUST roll down your cheeks with each morsel of that delicacy:D.

It was a "N'ICE CHOUFFE," a strong winter Belgium brew, blended with caramel and chocolate, but very light and smooth. Its ABV is 10%. EJam had 3.

I believe he was sufficiently Pittsnogeled.

I have not had that for several years, but remember it as being a really, really good Christmas ale. Never realized it was blended with caramel and chocolate. Perhaps I'll have to purchase a 750 ml bottle next week:D.

I wouldn't have suspected it, but the menu mentioned the caramel and chocolate. If anything, it's a faint taste of it. ALSO, the pour of it was interesting. VERY much of a head... almost like a cappucino in size. Incredibly foamy pour from the BelgianRoom folks.

Ozzie - thanks for the offer. I will take you up on it. I figure getting tickets through the season ticket plan would put me in a Duke section and not in the middle of KU fans. I have done that for basketball and it isn't nearly as fun as it could have been. (Although the game in Allen Fieldhouse when we son in overtime was fun as I sat in the middle of the KU athletic dept. and got some very dirty looks when we tied it and then won in OT.)

If you want to come with the tickets, I'd be glad to provide local transportation, etc.

Many of the Belgians are like that, whether they be singles, dubbels or trippels. Lovely head which is often referred to as Belgian Lace as it coats the glassware and lingers as you drink the ale.

I noticed that you just had terrible issues with chemicals this last week: Super glue and Tilex.

Don't you read the 1-point Arial font warning labels on these packages?:o

Obviously, I think ShamWow would have helped you in both cases.:D

Is that fear of the rubber glove, or fear of what the doctor may find out? The famous finger wave is a pretty good advanced warning system.
