Forever and a day since my musical awakening way back when, Jane's Addiction has been my favorite band. Even before following the Dead on many shows, Jane's was it for me. Unfortunately they split, and got back together, and split, and got back together, and split. Listening to satellite radio's Lithium, I've decided they enjoyed front man Perry Farrell as much as I did, because in the 4 hours I've had them on tonight, I've heard Jane's Addiction, obscure Jane's Addiction, and most recently Porno For Pyros (Pets). Pretty cool. Anyways, the only reason I bring any of this up on DBR is that the first time I ever saw Jane's Addiction they opened for Love & Rockets at Page auditorium. L&R put on a great show, but Jane's shocked everyone, nobody in the audience had a clue who they were. A couple years later, everyone knew who they were and what Perry's brainchild, Lollapalooza was.
