Does anyone here watch Dancing With The Stars? I've been a big fan of the show since the beginning, and even went to a taping last April. However, I think I'm close to being over it. I just have such a hard time watching it in real time- I have to dvr it and then watch it so that I can ditch the commercials and garbage time during the show and get right to the dances & scores.
Does anyone else feel this way? Has the show run its course? Or am I in the minority (of those who do watch it)?
(BTW, for those who are wondering, what you see on tv is pretty much exactly what you see in the studio, short of the doofus warmup guy.)

Being old school, I still use a VCR to tape it. I enjoy the dancing portion but not as much the clips of the learning the dance during the week.
I'm amazed that Warren Sapp is as light on his feet as he is. I was expecting him to be more like the rapper's dad from one of the earlier seasons. I also wish Susan Lucci would put a little more Erika in her dancing.

We have been taking dance lessons for over a year now and watched it regularly (vis tape) last spring to see the "experts." They are far, far better than we are (or will ever be) but it was interesting to follow the competition beginning to end. We are not watching it this season 'cuz of all the fluff, even if we were to DVR it. But, we're still dancing 2-3 nights/week:D.

My wife watches it, or actually time shifts it. She wants us to take ballroom lessons. I watch it for the costumes. :)

I've watched it from the beginning. Ballroom dancing is one of my passions in life! I think it's wonderful that this program has created so much interest in dancing for people of all ages. Having fun while getting great exercise is an unbeatable combination.

Take her up on the invite to learn ballroom dancing but make sure social dancing is included in your packages as there won't be many waltzes and foxtrots you can do at weddings, parties, on the beach or in clubs;). It really has been quite a bit of fun. I don't know how much longer we'll continue to do it and we aren't experiencing any desires to enter competitions so we keep dancing for the fun, enjoyment and exercise involved.

It's interesting that the football players who've participated have done quite well, better than most of the athletes from other sports. Their agility as well as being light on the feet are real assets for any sort of dancing.

Ask your wife if she will allow other women to dance with you at weddings.
All the ladies love a smooth dancing fellow. :)

Seriously, one of the principles taught during dance lessons is the ability of the guy to be able to lead different girls during the various dances. If ohioguy and his wife take lessons, she'll appreciate his ability to learn to "lead" as this will improve his dancing skills, just as long as he goes home with his wife after the lesson/wedding is over:D.

Too bad those competitions seem to air only once a year during the fundraisers. I used to tape each one of those programs.... the Ohio Star Ball, International Style. Corky Ballas and his wife Shirley were top competitors who made the jive look easy. Now Corky is dancing with Cloris on DWTS.

Those are GREAT. PBS out here shows them a few times a year- usually the same time slot for 6 consecutive weeks. They show it initially, but then rerun it a few times each year. Still great to watch, even if you have seen it before. The pros are simply amazing.

Haven't the recent PBS specials been mostly American style and cabaret, not International? I've noticed more free form in steps and patterns as well as in the attire than was the case a few years ago.

Ok I'm not THAT advanced, but I know they've done both. Yes, more American than International, but they have done both.
