Joe Person of the Columbia State reports that the Wilbur Hackett Jr., the umpire involved in the play, was a three-year starter at linebacker for Kentucky in the late-1960s.

Great training video. Ref shows perfect form... he's moving parallel to the line of scrimmage, body is low, eye on the back's midsection. My only critique is that his hands are a bit low, I'd like to see them up in a better position to strike.

well, you know. He played linebacker back in the 60's. He's probably out of practice. ;) That WAS impressive, though. It makes me wonder if he had money on the game, though. :eek:

I doubt it. I can totally imagine being in this guy's position. :D He's in perfect position to lay down a nasty tackle on an easy target, but then at the last second he realizes: "Oh snap, I really shouldn't be doing this." What we have here ladies and gents, is a classic example of the ignosecond.
