I had a fantastic day yesterday. I had a good friend from Illinois in for the weekend and we went out looking for leaves. It's peak in the Eastern Deciduous Forest of WV and it was an awesome day. I love this time of year in the mountains!

I'm jealous. It was 88 degrees here yesterday. We went up to SW Michigan on the weekend and there was almost no color even up there. And it was 82 degrees, all the way up there.

Altitude fixes many problems.

We're getting plenty of color along the Kentucky River.

Unfortunately, you're not allowed to park on the bridge to photograph it.

Once the cool front comes through, throaty, temperatures will be back to normal.
Cheers,

Hi,

Thanks for the pics. No matter how far life takes me, I'll always consider West Virginia home.

Best regards,
Jeffrey

Great pics, love the dandelion field and the fern. I lived in the N.C mountains for 5 years, and while I loved this time of year, and the spring, I hated everything in between. By the time March rolled around I was just dying to see something green.

I fell in West Virginia once. Now, I just fall around here. :D It is Octoberfest time after all.

Great photos.
