So there are three words I thought I'd never put into a sentence before. I admit, I chuckled a bit.

My reactions:
1. Why did Bill Gates agree to do an American Express ad?
2. When are they going to show the card?
3. Why is Gates paying with some shoe store frequency card?
4. Oh. Why did they use Seinfeld if this is not an AMEX ad?
Cute commercial, but it runs a serious risk of being ignored or disregard by those who don't watch until the very end.

My guess is that it's not really an ad. It's WAAAAAY long.
I've been to a couple MS conferences, and they have a lot of very professionally done, funny little vids like these to warm up the crowd.
I know what you're saying-- paying Seinfeld rates for a crowd warmer? That's the kind of bucks they have.

A little while ago I read somewhere that Microsoft was more than a little angry at the Mac vs Windows ads, and that they(Microsoft) were going to enlist Seinfeld to answer back. When I first saw the ad, I kept expecting something more. It was long. Perhaps this will be leading to something else, but then, it's Microsoft, and Macs rule.

My reaction to the video - to paraphrase the movie Billy Madison:
I award Microsoft no points, and may God have mercy on its soul.

Yeah, I saw this commercial on tv last night and was completely baffled. The product barely gets mentioned and then it's only some vague notion that something better is coming. The whole time you have no idea what's going on. It's just a lot of randomness.
But I read online today that this is the launch of a new ad campaign and so this is the beginning of a series of commercials... which hopefully means it will eventually build into something that will be both recognizable as an actual ad for something and still be humorous.
We'll see.
So for not even close to the greatness of the Mac ads.

I won't be the last Mac addict (btw where is BillyBreen today?) to state the Microsoft ad pales in comparison to the Mac ads, but I'm still gonna give a nod to Bill for this one, he (not Jerry) was comical.
I also have no idea what product they were talking about it.

I read that the ad campaign is specifically for Vista and not just Microsoft in general, but there's definitely no way to know that from this commercial.
And if we want to talk about a bad ad campaign.... how wrong are the new commercials for high fructose corn syrup now that it has been declared "all natural"??

Sheesh are you serious? I can't believe that they actually need to advertise for the junk. It's not like you can't find it in everything. I'm pretty sure I'm one of the few last creations on earth that is not made up of, or contains high fructose corn syrup. Others on this board might be all natural, but I'm not sure. :p

Cute, but I'm still skeptical it'll have much impact. The overall theme is supposed to be about Windows (http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/windows/featureStories.aspx?story=660dee9e-9606-4e77-843e-ed81d83c0bfe)(the OS, Windows Live - online services, and Windows Mobile.)
Frankly, I like The Mojave Experiment (http://www.mojaveexperiment.com)campaign much more.

I saw it today, I have no idea what it's selling, but seeing Gates do a butt wiggle made me laugh out loud. And his card was great.

Check out the Novel Linux commercials for a good laugh at the expense of both Mac AND PC.
