I have to admit, I probably own 36-50 pairs. But, I actually wear 10-15 or maybe the next category up. I rotate out winter versus summer shoes. And if you're going to count flipflops then, Geez!

That's only 20. I need more shoes. I do, really, it's time to go shoe shopping. Although I know I've forgotten a couple of pairs. My boots won't make it another winter and it's time to get new running shoes.

How many times have you bought a pair of shoes that didn't fit but you convinced yourself that 'they would stretch'? How many times did you actually wear these shoes? I will admit it took me 4 times, all fairly expensive pairs of shoes, to realize that if they don't fit in the store, they never will. I wore each of those pairs of shoes twice before giving up on the blister and band-aid inducing toture.

Crossing threads here, a title I've always wanted to use 'The Things We Do for Shoes'. Someday.

I am NOT doing a breakdown of my shoe closet. But I will say that I am wearing my brown Enzo flats today. And that I get my favorite shoes from the DSW clearance rack. My Polo slides, Mudd flats (very cute, wore them yesterday), and this great black pair, can't remember the brand.

And I own A LOT of sneakers. They accumulate.

Thongs are like flip flops, except they're not rubber soled. They're leather sandals--a step up from flip flops. I wouldn't wear them to work, but I would wear them around the house.

This thread was about shoes. Why would I post about lingerie in here?

I also agree that asking the number I own is misleading. I probably OWN 30 pairs, but wear only 5-10 on a regular basis. I too have bought shoes that were not quite comfortable only to not wear them due to that. I am very picky and my shoes MUST be comfortable or forget it.

Just call me Imelda! A few years ago one of my friends remarked that he has 2 feet and 6 shoes. That made me curious, so I counted all my shoes, boots, flip flops, etc. The next time we spoke, I reported that I have 2 feet and 144 shoes and felt the urge to obtain more! I love shoes because it doesn't matter how big I am, they always look good :p

I have 40-50 pairs and cannot name them all like some of the other women. And, like some of my fellow DBR ladies, I have a winter set and a summer set of shoes, some in my closet have only been worn once as they hurt, and there are a some I only wear for certain occasions, and some that are worn pretty regularly.

I am always ready and willing to add to my shoe collection.

I'm guessing I have about 20 pairs of shoes, but probably only wear about 5 regularly in a given season.

Definitely can't list brand names for most of them... though I do love both of my pairs of Aigners! So comfortable!!

Most of my shoes are practical... brown sandals, black sandals... but I do have this one fabulous pair of pink heels that almost caused a woman to wreck because she was trying to see them as she drove by!

Oh, and my best friend (also a Dukie) is somewhere around the 100 pair range... I know she had over 100 but threw away/gave away some when she just moved.

I'm probably the only woman in the world not into shoes. I have:

1. Rainbows (wonderful flip-flops that I live in during the summer)
2. Athletic shoes (I don't even know the brand...Nike maybe?)
3. Brown sling back dress shoes
4. Black flats
5. Black dress boots to wear with pants (keeps my feet warm in winter)

Thankfully, I work at home and don't dress up that often. If I need other shoes, I borrow them from my daughter, who enjoys shoes more than I do.

I don't even make it to 10 pairs!!

Thanks, Sue71. I'm not sure I've ever been anyone's hero. (The floral berkies were actually supposed to be black Florida berkies to replace a worn out pair but they were in the back room. At least I didn't buy both! :) )
