He's HORRIBLE right now. Broken three times in set one. Amazing.

Maybe he's hungover.

3rd Set - Roddick wakes up.

Very likely too little wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too late.

It ain't over til it's over. Go Andy! It needs to go to 5 sets so I can watch the end after McCain's speech.

I thought Roddick was smoked, he was upset and beating himself. Playing way smarter now, hopefully he didn't spend himself.
P.S. Regis needs to shut up.

EJ will like this..I went to a house a couple of years ago to work on this lady's computer, she wasn't home, she just told me to go on in and start. As I'm cleaning viruses, I notice tons of tennis mags and whatnot around, and notice familiar tennis names in folders on her computer. (I'm from a big tennis family, so the names stood out). When she came home we started talking about her PC, and tennis. She said "Want to see something?" and she pulled out a big silver plate, engraved with Roddick's name. It was his runner's up trophy from Wimbledon two weeks previous, and she turned out to be his agent. Living in podunk beach town in NC. He was upset that he lost, and he just told her to ship it back to her house after the tourney was over.

One last comment..Djokovic just figured out the fastest way to piss off more people in one sentence than I could in a lifetime. Way to go.

He basically said that Roddick and everyone in the stands thinks he is faking all of his injuries and everyone thinks he is a cheater.

US Open? Didn't Tiger win that back in June?

I can't believe that Roddick again and again and again doesn't live up to his potential. UGH! Andy needs to give it all to the sport or get out of the game.

I angst at folk in sports, or entertainment, or politics, etc. who WASTE their God given talent. Such a disappointment.

Sorry.... but those with great gifts who waste them cause my tears.

Asked then about Djokovic's problems, Roddick kidded around, checking whether the list shouldn't also include bird flu, anthrax, SARS and a common cold and said: "He's either quick to call a trainer or he's the most courageous guy of all time."

Roddick also said in an on-court interview that day: "I've got to feel good. He's got about 16 injuries right now."

After beating Roddick, ending the match with a 125 mph serve that drew a long return, Djokovic made reference to those comments.

"That's not nice anyhow to say in front of this crowd that I have 16 injuries and that I'm faking," Djokovic said during a postmatch interview that drew boos from the spectators in Arthur Ashe Stadium.

"They're already against me, because they think I'm faking everything."

Can't find the video though. Didn't seem that bad. Wasn't he asked a direct question about it? I only caught the end of the interview so didn't see the question itself.

Also, while I agree Roddick has been given a great talent, Djokovic isn't too bad himself and I could easily argue more well-rounded in talent. Roddick has a ridiculous serve and forehand, but that doesn't guarantee victory. If you don't think Roddick has spent countless hours training the past 10 years, then you're wrong. I don't think it's fair to say he hasn't given it all to the sport. Being one of the ten best tennis players in the world over the past 6 years isn't too shabby. Would you say Carlos Boozer hasn't been successful? He certainly isn't one of the top 10 basketball players in the world....The difficulty with tennis (and golf) is, only ONE person wins it all. And when you've got Federer and Nadal at the same time as you, it's hard to break through.

I love Djokovic and hate Roddick. A great day of tennis for me. I used to like Andy but thought he screwed himself when he dumped Brad Gilbert.

He's too slow. Like Tyson's punch in the 80s, his powerful first serve can intimidate players he meets in the first few rounds of grand slams, but once he advances to the highest tier players, that serve no longer intimidates and he has nothing else to go to. At this point, I think his size hurts him. Roddick is a big guy. The players currently ranked at the top are strong but are lean, nimble. They float to the net or dance all over the court. When Andy loses the weapon that is his serve, as he will almost always do in the quarters and semis of grand slams, he has nothing else to go to. He lumbers to the net, to the left, to the right. I wonder if he lost about 15 pounds or so and gained some speed, agility, if that would help his game. I’m a fan, and want to see him do better.

That's awesome. So do you think she ever shipped it back? This has e-bay written all over it.

That's a little harsh, don't you think? You're basically calling the guy out for not being better than Federer (and now Nadal and Djokovic). Those three are some pretty serious players.
