The first rule of Fight Club is - you do not talk about Fight Club.
The second rule of Fight Club is - you DO NOT talk about Fight Club.
Third rule of Fight Club, someone yells Stop!, goes limp, taps out, the fight is over.
Fourth rule, only two guys to a fight.
Fifth rule, one fight at a time, fellas.
Sixth rule, no shirt, no shoes.
Seventh rule, fights will go on as long as they have to.
And the eighth and final rule, if this is your first night at Fight Club, you have to fight.

Other than that, Mr. Evans, how did you like the movie?:D
So I guess I won't be renting it, eh?;)
Thanks,

If you don't rent the movie today, you are the worst person in America. In fact, I'm pretty sure you can be deported for not having seen it.
Get on it, VeryTall, or you will have to answer to Meatloaf. His name is Robert Paulson.

Hopefully the writing is a little better than the excerpt from Jason's post.:)

Just finished Lullaby.
Palahniuk has a strange way of looking at the world.

Haven't read that. I've read Choke, Fight Club, and Diary. I'm curious about the Choke movie coming out shortly. No idea how they are going to make that as anything but NC-17.

After you hole up in your scary basement, watching "Fight Club" (I'm still unnerved by it) go see "Hamlet2," it's hilarious and gets even funnier after you've seen it.

Dude, the worst line on Earth can be great when delivered right. The best line ever written can be crud when uttered by the wrong actor.
Here is the line I quoted above-- acted freaking perfectly!!

Lavabe, Wilson,
I, too, was in your shoes until earlier this spring. "Fight Club" just never appealed to me, what little I knew about it. I mean, yeah, Brad Pitt and Ed Norton, yummy, but guys fighting each other? Who needs it?
Then I watched it, because it came on StarzHD.
And then, I sat stunned for about 5 minutes.
Then, I yelled at anyone within earshot for days, at why they had never sat me down and forced me to watch the movie, because it was just so good that everyone should see it.
Really. Don't make me fly to KY/ATL to force you to watch it.

Somehow, a woman's opinion on this makes me feel more compelled to go and watch it (lots of "guy classics" are just totally lost on me). I promise I will watch it soon and post my thoughts (but it'll be a little while).

Sorry, from a youtube clip (and not having seen the rest of the movie), I don't see what's so good about it.
Because DA usually makes sense (well, except for that One Night in Bangkok debate... or was that BD?), if Wilson brings the new brew from Sweetwater, I'll watch it with him the next time he comes up. No other brew will do.

What 'One Night in Bangkok' debate? (It wasn't me.)

Well, good. And for that, we each get another bump to our post counts.;):D
Gee, after having read three moderators and 'breen repeat the mantra from that movie, I think we need a little levity and a comment from captainmojo. If he says that one line from that movie, I think I'll scream.
Wilson: when are you bringing up to Kentucky the new brew from Sweetwater?

Might be a while, but I had some the other night. It's an ESB, "Motor Boat." It's only new in that it's this fall's entry in the "Catch and Release" (seasonal) series. It is quite good though...I suppose I should post about it in "Ymm, beer."

IIRC, they used to have an ESB. Glad they revived it.

It was me, and I still hold that it's a good song. But then again, I also like Fleetwood Mac. :D
(But don't worry, my tastes in music are unrelated to my tastes in movies, except for I appreciate a good soundtrack.)

Sweetwater will forever remain "not quite as good as it used to be" until they revive Exodus, the porter. It was excellent.

I responded to this and your "Exodus" post on the "Ymm, Beer" thread.
Uh oh. Based on DA's response, is Fleetwood Mac is in the soundtrack to Fight Club? If it is, we simply CANNOT (or CAN NOT;)) watch Fight Club.

No Fleetwood Mac(unless I slept through that part) but I would skip it anyway unless it's free. The premis is preposterous; the script/dialogue is weak, and the rest of the entertainment value is average at best.
