That's an understatement. It's freaking awesome. Thanks. - can't remember who suggested it.

Thanks!

When I lived in the mountains, that was the only station I could tolerate. It's still on my favorites for when we take my step-kids back home. They yell at me to turn on some rock station. I yell back to shut up and listen...lol.

I grew up in Asheville and still visit my mother there 4-5 times a year. Depending on circumstances, we either drive from DC (sometimes spending a night in the Triangle) or fly to Charlotte and drive from there. Either way, we listen to WNCW as soon as we get within range. I totally concur with mojo and rthomas.

The station is housed in Spindale NC, at Isothermal Community College. This must be the only college in the entire country named after a weather pattern.

From the web site of Isothermal Community College: For many years the expression "isothermal belt" or "thermal belt" has been used to describe certain sections of North Carolina which enjoy a more equitable climate than neighboring regions of comparable altitude and latitude.
