Last spring I was looking for some cheap athletic pants. I went to the Roses at Homestead Market in Durham. I wanted to try a couple of things on so I could avoid a return trip if at all possible. The dressing room door had a sign on it that read "Please do not urinate in our dressing rooms." Needless to say, I tried them on at home.

Yesterday, I was at the South Square Target. I tried a couple of dressing rooms, both of them reeked of urine. I sucked it up and tried my things on quickly. When I left, I asked the attendant about the smell. She said that there are people who use the dressing rooms as bathrooms. They pee in the women's dressing rooms and, yes, poop in the men's dressing rooms.

Is this a new form of vandalism? Or has this been going on a while and I'm just now clued in? What kind of pathetic disgusting society have we produced where this is considered funny or . . . or . . . I don't know. Heed my advice, don't try on clothes in the store.

That is incredibly disgusting. I'm so glad I haven't encountered it. I hope this "trend" ends quickly.

I have never heard of such a thing up here in northern VA, but I'll be on the lookout now. Animals!

Don't most larger bigbox stores have bathrooms anyway? Any time I've looked for a bathroom in a Walmart or Target type place I've found one.

Ew, ew, ewwwwwwwww!!! Although I have to say I find the "Please do not urinate in our dressing room" signs funny... I mean, what did they expect to happen, someone who was previous planning to pee on the floor going, "Oh, my! Well, why didn't you just say so?" :)

This summer I was in a JCPenney in Trumbull, CT where the same thing happened! I wanted to try on a swim suit, and all but one of the dressing rooms was "out of commission". The sales lady said someone had laid a deuce (well, she didn't really say that, but you get my drift.) I couldn't believe it. Nice mall, nice town, and I would have never expected that type of thing happening there. Which goes to show, don't make assumptions about bad behavior based on socio economic status.
There must be a trend going on -wonder where it started but more important, how to stop it.

A new use for the phrase - were you raised in a barn?

Not just for leaving the door outside open anymore - it works for people using the wrong stall for eliminating biological waste.

I don't think toilet availability is the issue. I think the issue is horrible, horrible people with nothing better to do than pee and defecate in public places just to irritate others. There is no excuse for people like that.
