Watching my cat lounge on the arm of the recliner, right next to the open sliding patio door (screen door closed, this is downtown LA after all), where she can gaze lovingly out at the buses driving by. She has her mellow, happy, relaxed, & content look on her face. :)

I love her when she's like this. It should last another 47 seconds before psycho kitty returns.

And you currently are... ? Post below.

rollin wit da homies...

no, actually I have my feet up and am surfing the net. Genghis (the cat) is walking back and forth underneath my legs letting his tail rub against me. Cute stuff.

Feet kicked up on coffee table, enjoying my fifth glass of wine. My body is banged up from four matches of tennis from Friday - Sunday.

Resting now, with wine, after cooking a couple of strip steaks on the grill.

I am buzzing, and I like it.

I like the buzz. I love all of you. Universal Love. Love rules. Hug me.

I love your L.A. Cat. If I were there, I would kiss him/her on the nose.

Perhaps I am beyond buzzing.

I am wearing a T-shirt and boxers. I cannot feel my ankles.

That's so sweet. You may end up with teeth marks on your nose though. Don't say I never warned you. :D

Perhaps your black ankle socks are too tight, thus cutting off your circulation. :p

sitting on the loveseat, still in my workout clothes from pilates* class, petting the very insistent, needy bulldog (he keeps resting his head on my hand, making typing difficult), with the AMA Superbike Sunday race from Laguna Seca on the tube. (not really watching it, but Mr. DA is into it. Go Mladdin.)

* Sue71, as a former dancer, you might really like Pilates. See other thread for more.

Going to bed. I like my bed. Sleeping is good. The mattress is comfy. My pillow is awesome. I would take my down comforter as one of 3 things allowed to a deserted island.

Psycho kitty even has a corner of the bed.

Good night.

At this time forestalling my time to get ready for work, contemplating the universe, thinking of grabbing some mango on the way out the door and trying to figure out how to have a good jam session for a car trip planned for this weekend. No CD player in the car, only a tape desk. However considering taking the MP3 and ear phones or battery op speaker and have it blaring in the car as I cruise up US1 and then 58 East to 64/264. hehehe, any guesses where I am heading?

I am scowling. Was supposed to golf, but thunder, lightening, rain. Guess I'll work.

I don't think you're going anywhere my friend. ;) Where does 58E hook up with the 64/264. I'll echo CathyCA adding that you could be as far south as Nags Head.

EJ,

I've been thinking about this a lot. And I think you need to do laundry now.

Currently I am wishing today was over so I could go home & start packing for Vegas. I go tomorrow!

Yes, it's for a conference, but really, a conference in Vegas... and a conference that I'm not all that interested in... :D

Virginia Beach?

A little north of VA Beach (Norfolk)

Being from Va Beach, I envy the trip to Norfolk.

But currently, I'm waiting for the bus into Westwood to see The Dark Knight with my husband and his geek co-workers. His company has a "Quality of Life" guy who got everyone tickets. Grad students have no one who cares about their "QoL".

Why don't you swing into a RadioShack and spend $20 on a headphone-jack-to-tape-player adapter (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2361893&cp=2032059.2032325.2032326&allCount=27&fbn=Type%2FAdapters&f=PAD%2FProduct+Type%2FAdapters&fbc=1&parentPage=family), so you can listen to your MP3 player through your in-car system?

Currently posting this on DBR...duh. Otherwise heading to bed with my book, my 3 dogs and one cat snuggled around me.

If I can't sleep (a fairly often occurrence), then I'm back to doing work -- emails and writing letters.

Then....off to Tour de France viewing in the wee hours.

After spending the day (well the afternoon anyway) in the archives and a couple of hours at the pub working some magic on the rather cute girl I met at the archives earlier in the week, I am now sitting on my balcony in the East End of London (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London) looking at 30 St Mary Axe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/30_St_Mary_Axe) (formerly known as the Swiss Re Tower, more commonly known as 'The Gherkin') a few blocks away while enjoying a pint of bitter. I think I'll hit the rye and coke next before heading off down the pub for the rest of the night.

Feeling no pain whatsoever. Just sleepy. And a bit buzzed. Ok, more than a bit. Dang Vegas. This is what it's like to be a tourist and not live here. And it's barely past 12:30. Dunno what to say. Happy though.

What does it say that I'm in this state and thought to post? EJ or others, care to comment?

I would comment, but I'm delirious. Seven days (or something like that) of insomnia is starting to catch up. Hope you're having fun... tourist. :)

I hasten to add that posting on the DBR doesn't get rid of insomnia, but it does alleviate some of the anxiety.

Just finished my first cup of rooibos chai tea. Ymm.....

I am awaiting word on our house inspection report.

I am also wondering what EarlJam will do in Alaska.

Just kissed Mr. Ghost off to catch his first mass transit commute to his first day of work at his first real job after gradschool. Now what do I do? Unpack boxes? Watch local news? Go back to sleep? Attempt my first day in the gym at our new place?

I think I'll browse DBR a little more.

Awww, Mr. Ghost is all growed-up! :D Good luck to him! And to you, as you're starting something new too. I vote for sleeping while watching local news.

I am currently avoiding going in to work. That can't last much longer. :( But I move offices this afternoon (2nd time in a month), and can't be in my new one until Monday, so at least I get a 3-day weekend. Yay.
