Next Up – Findlay

Next up for the Devils is Findlay, the reigning D-II champs.  Out of Ohio, Findlay plays in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

They’re national champs, but it’s also a stable program:  Ron Neikamp is in his 25th year, with a record of 550-174.  Did we mention that they were undefeated national champs?  Pretty impressive.

The entire team is from Ohio, with the exception of Rob Marsden, who is from Doncaster, England.

Somewhat typically of exhibition opponents, they’re not huge: Jason Wehri is 6-9, Marsden 6-7, and Michael Agunga is 6-6.

Their leader is Marcus Parker, a 5-9 sparkplug.

There’s no question that Duke will be favored, and should be.  Nonetheless, this is a proud team and they did something remarkable last season.  Expecting them to come in and roll over is foolish.  They’ll give Duke all they have.
