Duke Strikes Back
One of the major themes you’ll hear about Duke in the coming months is that they’re mad as hell and they’re not going to take it anymore. And it’s about time. We’re referring of course to the sometimes startling media bias against Duke, something we’ve talked about as much as anyone over the last few years, and we’re glad it’s being taken seriously.
Bryan Strickland has an article about it in the Durham paper, and the Greensboro paper is due to have one as well. They usually don’t update until the early morning, or sometimes later, and frankly, it makes it very hard to keep up with what they’re doing, which is a shame, because they have some good writers. But their whole approach has been erratic: at one point, we had bookmarked a link, and it changed. When we did go to the site, we just hit the referring link (the one that tells you the link has moved). Then, several months later, we went in again and everything had been moved back.
At one point, you couldn’t predict whether columns would turn up under the main sports page or under the ACC sports page or maybe somewhere else entirely. Now the ACC section seems to be gone.
So we don’t read there every day because it’s usually frustrating. They have good writers, but for whatever reason, they don’t make it easy to find them. But we are looking forward to reading Sunday’s article.
Ok, the Greensboro article is up and here’s another with excerpts from K’s comments.
Here are some other links from Coach K’s talk on Friday.
