Over the last few days, K.C. Johnson has systematically gone after the Group of 88, the Duke professors who penned an ad in the days following the lacrosse party and then one more recently. There's more detail here than we can easily explain, but two points jump out:1. If you're going to start tossing around charges of McCarthyism, you should make sure no one in the immediate neighborhood ever suffered from it because they can make you look really stupid, and
2. If you won't take questions from your critics, and you won't let people record your meeting, you do not have the strength of your convictions.
