When we looked at the schedule Saturday night, we figured there was a good chance that the ACC would get a big fat bloody lip. And why not? Marquette and Butler are both red hot right now. UNC is not playing very well and is vulnerable. And State is still building and is very vulnerable and UNO has a score to settle with Monte Towe

The ACC nearly had a disastrous Saturday, with Virginia Tech and B.C. flirting with losses and Wake Forest losing to William & Mary. Only Miami won easily, but they were playing USC Upstate, a team that came in 0-5 and left 0-6.

Duke closed out the season with a loss to Wake, 45-34, and while we wish Duke had won a few more games, notably Richmond, Virginia Tech and UNC, we’re still very happy. In ACC action Friday, Clemson got back on the winning track beating Long Beach, 87-79, Georgia Tech knocked off Mercer, 85-74, Florida State took Alabama, 60-51, and Virginia Tech lost to Temple, 61-50.
