Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 by DBR

Here’s a cool read on Kyrie Irving and his use of the Internet to talk directly to fans who are following his recruiting. Good stuff!

Tark Injury Update!

In case you were wondering what happened to Jerry Tarkanian (we mentioned he had unspecified injuries in our post Tuesday night), here’s the list. He’s had a tough time lately.

Kyrie Irving Update!

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 by DBR

Kyrie Irving is pretty unusual in that he is taking the media bull by the horns. While he’s an active presence on Twitter, he’s also been doing his own shows on Ustream.  We caught the tail end of his appearance last night with a buddy (didn’t catch his name) and listened as he took questions [...]

Pressure Building On Bowden, Friedgen

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 by DBR

The urge to purge is starting early in the ACC this year, with Bobby Bowden and Ralph Friedgen both starting to get the treatment.   The link about Bowden is particularly brutal. On the other hand, we’re pretty sure that whatever it was that Travis Ivey was trying to say here came out wrong: "I [...]

G Gets The Business!

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 by DBR

If Tyler Hansbrough has to hear about Duke from his Pacer teammates Mike Dunleavy, Dahntay Jones, and Josh McRoberts, Gerald Henderson gets the same treatment in Charlotte from Larry Brown, Raymond Felton, and the rest of the UNC contingent employed by the Bobcats.

Tark’s Latest Column!

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 by DBR

We’ve become big fans of Jerry Tarkanian’s column for the Las Vegas Sun. It’s like Larry King’s column for USAToday, but with minimally more focus.  In this installment, we get some reminiscences, some insights into UNC’s team from last year which are pretty smart, and a weird aside about a "damn cat" that somehow got [...]

Sidney/NCAA Conflict Getting Intense

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 by DBR

The Renardo Sidney argument is getting more intense as Sidney’s lawyer has appealed for a Congressional investigation.  The NCAA would like to know how the Sidneys paid for an expensive stay in LA, but they will not give them the documentation.  Things could get pretty interesting here in a number of ways.

Fennis Dembo Update!

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009 by DBR

After a traumatic night where he shot and killed an intruder in his house, Fennis Dembo had a tough few years. He’s bounced back though and the former Wyoming star is again the ebullient bon vivant who briefly graced basketball’s stage.
