Good news/bad news for Duke in the GlaxoSmithKline Holiday Invitational basketball tournament, as Mason Plumlee’s Christ School came from behind to beat John Wall’s Word Of God team, but Ryan Kelly and Ravenscroft lost to Centennial, out of Georgia, 72-53. No surprises Tuesday, as all the ACC teams won, with only Georgia Tech challenged. They beat Tennessee State, 63-58, a bit too close for comfort. Maryland whacked Elon 76-50, Wake got by Radford, 81-63, and Clemson took down South Carolina, 98-87.

One of the more interesting stories thus far this season has to be the rise of Arkansas’s Marcus Monk, a walk-on from the football team who took it to Blake Griffin and helped Arkansas upset the Sooners, 96-88.
