Have A Great Weekend!

Friday, August 31st, 2007 by DBR

Christmas, funerals, weddings, childbirth – we’re here pretty much everyday. But not so much this weekend. We’re going to be out of town for a couple of days on personal business and may not have much access to update and probably won’t change the front page until Sunday. But we will try and add [...]

Friday, August 31st, 2007 by DBR

Here’s a wrap-up of the first day of Mike Nifong’s contempt charges, featuring some bizarro commentary by Brian Meehan of the DNA firm which handled the evidence and the suggestion that Nifong didn’t lie intentionally, according to his attorney: "I think you will find that although his statements were not literally true, they were not [...]

U.S. Takes It Out On Uruguay, 118-79

Thursday, August 30th, 2007 by DBR

Long-time Duke observers will recognize this pattern: after a less-than-perfect performance,  a Mike Krzyzewski team often comes out and just crushes the next opponent.  Uruguay may not have gotten the name of the truck that ran over it, but they did recognize LeBron James behind the wheel.

Lee Melchionni Update!

Thursday, August 30th, 2007 by DBR

Here’s a little catch-up with Lee Melchionni, who like Carmen Wallace has become a sports agent. He also recounts a pretty good prank which a lot of people fell for, including some gullible Maryland students, although it almost cost him a friendship. Fun read.

Nifong Back In Court; Jail Time Possible For Contempt Charges

Thursday, August 30th, 2007 by DBR

Mike Nifong is back in court Thursday, with an appearance before Judge Osmond Smith, who could fine him or send him to jail for a month or both.
As we have noted before, in our opinion, Mike Nifong is a bully and when he’s threatened, when authority is present, he becomes compliant.  But when he’s out [...]
